Lowlands Switchback

Switchbacks are a effective way of getting a lot of play surface out of a single area. Starting at the lower right, the play develops to the left along the lower level. The player then continues on the upper platforms, jumping, collecting, and fighting over the areas from where they just came.

Notice how the goal is just above the starting point. Upon arriving at the upper area,  the player can look back over the area with a sense of accomplishment and resolution.
