This rotating turntable must be positioned properly in order to continue north. The play then progresses through the upper door, around a series of rooms to the west, and ultimately arrives back into this room, to your far left. The platform is then returned to the position you see here and you can continue through the level. A good example of reuse as well as providing an identifiable waypoint in the world.
